Contact UsWhat are Chemical Peels?
For the best results from chemical peel aesthetic treatments, Prestige Cosmetic Dermatology provides you with options. Your customized facial treatment with chemical solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, mandelic, trichloroacetic, phenol and lactic acids) will reveal healthier, more radiant skin. At our Yorba Linda, CA office, board-certified Dermatologist Dr. Alison Kang offers chemical peel treatments that minimize skin abnormalities, like wrinkles, scars, fine lines, uneven patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels work by removing dead or damaged skin cells by using a specific peel on your skin that causes the top layer to peel off. As your skin recovers and starts to repair and rejuvenate itself, you will notice a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel facial is a nonsurgical option to help make your skin bright and can be used for the face, neck and body.
We offer customized superficial, medium and deep chemical peels.
We also offer:
- The Perfect Peel
- Enlighten Peel
what can i expect from a chemical peel?
At our Yorba Linda, CA office, we perform chemical peels in multiple strengths (light, medium, and deep) to accommodate our patients' skin needs.
Light peels: You can receive a light chemical peel during your lunch hour and go right back to your routine. This level of peel will remove the top skin layer (the epidermis), giving your face a brighter appearance and softer texture. We usually suggest that you schedule a light treatment at least once a month for the best glowing results.
Medium-depth peels: This level of peel reaches further into the skin, and patients usually decide to do this strength of facial treatment over an extended weekend. You may also need to prepare yourself for more discomfort during and about an hour after a chemical peel. Medium-depth peels are designed for patients who have significant damage to their skin, such as deeper wrinkles and darker pigmentation issues.
Deep peels: The most advanced of the three types of peels is the deep peel treatment, and it will require the lengthiest recovery time. This is an aggressive procedure that could leave your face itchy, peeling, and swollen for 1-2 weeks. Patients who have a deep peel generally have dark age spots, sun damage, significant acne scars, and/or deep scars.
Chemical Peel Reviews
I had been struggling with severe Post-Inflammatory Erythema (PIE) and Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) on my chest, which resulted from acne and a bad steroid injection. Some areas became dented, thinned, and red with visible vascular veins. I visited several other dermatologists who recommended laser treatments and chemical peels, but these either didn’t help or made the condition worse.Dr. Alison Kang is an expert who immediately understood how to treat my skin. After about 4-5 laser treatment sessions over a few months, combined with prescribed medications, my chest skin is completely cleared up and looks clearer than ever - something I never thought would be possible again!I’m beyond grateful for Dr. Kang’s expertise and highly recommend her to anyone dealing with difficult skin conditions.
