Dr. Alison S. Kang is a board-certified Dermatologist, specializing in cosmetic and laser dermatology, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Kang is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
She attended Johns Hopkins University where she majored in both Public Health Studies and Spanish. She then received her medical doctorate at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Kang graduated at the top 10% of her medical school class and became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a highly selective medical honors society that values scholarly achievement and leadership.
After completing her Dermatology residency, Dr. Kang continued on to complete two additional fellowships in Cosmetic Dermatology and Mohs Surgery. Dr. Kang currently serves as the Associate Fellowship Director for Cosmetic Dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center, where she works to train the next generation of cosmetic Dermatologists.
She is the author of several book chapters and dozens of peer-reviewed research articles in Dermatology journals on topics including melanoma, melanoma immunotherapy, non-melanoma skin cancers, laser acne treatment, radiofrequency for wrinkle reduction, and non-invasive body contouring. Dr. Kang is trilingual and speaks English, Korean and Spanish.

For many years I drove to Laguna to see a dermatologist I loved, but the long commute became too much. I’m beyond happy to have found someone I trust much closer to home. Dr Kang is incredibly skilled and I highly recommend her for anyone wanting beautiful natural looking results.

She narrates before each step, which helps you prepare mentally.She also introduced me to Daxxify as an alternative to Botox (which does not work on my skin for forehead wrinkles/lines).She is always friendly and so is her staff.I love this doctor and her office. The office is pristine clean, as well.Can’t say enough great things.Been a client/patient of hers for almost a year.
Dr. Kang is the absolute best! I've seen her multiple times now for melasma, skin texture, Botox, filler, and most recently hormonal acne. She always takes the time to listen to my concerns, and I've never once felt rushed or pressured into doing anything. She gives honest recommendations, explains everything thoroughly, and you can tell she truly cares about her patients and their results.She's also incredibly kind and personable. During every procedure, she makes you feel so comfortable that it feels more like you're catching up with a friend than having a treatment done. My name is Timothy. I went to Dr. Kang in the Sacramento location “Laser & Skin Surgery Center” for 2 years. She helped me regain my confidence as a guy with scars and redness. Having done over 3 V-beam treatments, 2 CO2 lasers, and mole removals with her, I wrote this review to let others know her expertise will stay wherever she goes. I hate to admit it, there is no one better than her with doing lasers and cosmetic treatment for face. I will hopefully see her again if I am in the area.
