Dr. Alison S. Kang is a board-certified Dermatologist, specializing in cosmetic and laser dermatology, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Kang is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
She attended Johns Hopkins University where she majored in both Public Health Studies and Spanish. She then received her medical doctorate at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Kang graduated at the top 10% of her medical school class and became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a highly selective medical honors society that values scholarly achievement and leadership.
After completing her Dermatology residency, Dr. Kang continued on to complete two additional fellowships in Cosmetic Dermatology and Mohs Surgery. Dr. Kang currently serves as the Associate Fellowship Director for Cosmetic Dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center, where she works to train the next generation of cosmetic Dermatologists.
She is the author of several book chapters and dozens of peer-reviewed research articles in Dermatology journals on topics including melanoma, melanoma immunotherapy, non-melanoma skin cancers, laser acne treatment, radiofrequency for wrinkle reduction, and non-invasive body contouring. Dr. Kang is trilingual and speaks English, Korean and Spanish.

Best experience visiting a dermatologist office! I got my skin tags removed and received laser on my face. Dr. Kang is so knowledgeable and personable. I will definitely be going back!
The doctor Kang is very kind and highly skilled. If you need skin care or surgery, I highly recommend them. And The Ultraclear laser for acne scars was especially effective.
I visited to treat my child's atopic dermatitis and my husband's boils. The newly opened hospital was very clean and comfortable, and Dr. Kang provided quick, detailed, and kind treatment. Highly recommended for dermatological treatment and procedures! Dr. Kang is very kind, caring, professional and efficient. We visited the clinic to treat my son's atopic dermatitis and to get rid of my husband's great big abscess on his arm, and I was 100% satisfied! When I visited other dermatologists (I have visited more than 5 dermatologists in various areas including Seoul, Mexico City, and LA so far), they only prescribed steroid creams and were reluctant to use them frequently on young children, but Dr. Kang said that if you use steroid creams frequently, your skin will improve. He said it would make me thinner and prescribed an ointment that moisturizes well but does not contain steroids, so I am using it freely. My husband's boil was almost 10 years old, and they removed it so quickly and easily that he is now recovering safely.

I wanted to start off by saying for 10+ years, I’ve always had a cleanly shaved head due to my alopecia which I kept pretty personal. I had longed to be able to grow my hair out one day but never thought it was possible anymore - not until I met Dr. Kang. After several treatments with Dr. Kang of cortisone shots and PRP for alopecia, I’ve grown out my hair for the first time in over a decade. Seeing how skilled Dr. Kang was with treating my hair, I wanted to get more things done so I tried the new ultraclear laser for some acne scars and loved that as well. Dr. Kang has really changed me in many ways and I would recommend her to everyone!
