Dr. Alison S. Kang is a board-certified Dermatologist, specializing in cosmetic and laser dermatology, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Kang is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
She attended Johns Hopkins University where she majored in both Public Health Studies and Spanish. She then received her medical doctorate at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Kang graduated at the top 10% of her medical school class and became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a highly selective medical honors society that values scholarly achievement and leadership.
After completing her Dermatology residency, Dr. Kang continued on to complete two additional fellowships in Cosmetic Dermatology and Mohs Surgery. Dr. Kang currently serves as the Associate Fellowship Director for Cosmetic Dermatology at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center, where she works to train the next generation of cosmetic Dermatologists.
She is the author of several book chapters and dozens of peer-reviewed research articles in Dermatology journals on topics including melanoma, melanoma immunotherapy, non-melanoma skin cancers, laser acne treatment, radiofrequency for wrinkle reduction, and non-invasive body contouring. Dr. Kang is trilingual and speaks English, Korean and Spanish.

Dr. Kang is very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She takes the time to listen, explain treatment options clearly, and address all of my concerns without ever making the appointment feel rushed. I’ve seen her for several different concerns and have been very happy with both the care and the results. Her front-office staff and assistants are also kind and welcoming. I’ve never had to wait and am always seen promptly. I highly recommend Dr. Kang!

This was my first time visiting a dermatologist, and I had three things that had been bothering me for quite some time. Unfortunately, my medical insurance considered them cosmetic, so they weren’t covered. I found Prestige Cosmetic Dermatology and Dr. Kang through a referral and decided to make an appointment.From the moment I arrived, the staff was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. During my consultation, Dr. Kang introduced herself, along with the nurse and assistant, and took the time to look at all three areas I was concerned about. She explained what could be done and made sure I understood the procedures and costs before we got started.The procedures were quick and painless. One area was a small cyst that Dr. Kang removed, and the other two were treated with a laser. She explained the aftercare and made sure I didn’t have any questions before I left.Overall, I was very impressed with Dr. Kang and her staff. Dr. Kang was professional, caring, and made sure I was comfortable before, during, and after the procedures. About a week later, everything was almost completely healed, just as she had explained.I’m so happy I finally had these things taken care of. It’s a great feeling to have something that had been on my mind for a long time finally done.Thank you, Dr. Kang, and the entire staff at Prestige Cosmetic Dermatology! I went to Prestige Cosmetic Dermatology for the first time last month. The ladies in the front are welcoming and helped me check in. I was brought into a room where Dr. Kang discussed which treatments would benefit my skin and target my areas of concerns, and her nurse, Vivian, was the one who treated me. I was recommended the Ultra Clear laser for facial rejuvenation and the Q switched laser for the brown spots on my cheeks and I was able to get treatment done that same day. We even went ahead with a little Botox on my forehead and glabella. Vivian did an amazing job as I felt minimal pain during all the treatments and I’ve been loving my results. My skin looks more even and fresh and forehead lines aren’t as noticeable.I highly recommend going to Prestige to see Dr. Kang and Vivian and I cannot wait to go back for more!
